| About OMG |

OMG SALON is the creation of Maurice Tannenbaum. You know Maurice

starburst Philly-born-turned-world-cities-ex-pat celebrity hair stylist. (Specifically, the tri-state area: Manhattan, The Main Line, Paris.)

starburst  Celebrated fashion photographer. (My life is nothing if not a book. Hopefully, an expensive coffee table book published by Rizzoli.)

starburst Known to order the very, very best ammonia-free hair color made in Italy, exclusively for OMG.

OMG SALON goes far beyond what most salons do.

In addition to having received their requisite education and certification, all OMG stylists train under Maurice for at least a year. That means every stylist has learned and perfected her or his technique and approach learning from Maurice first, before going on to develop a unique style.

starburstWe only use non-ammoniated hair color. We also neverever use anything with ammoniated, a compound in some hair dyes that make hair lackluster, brittle and dry.

starburstWe  perfect all of our color by tweaking it ourselves, combining different hues and formulations, so that your hair color is always custom-designed just for you.

starburstWe specialize in hair extensions. We use Balmain of Paris, they’ve been in the hair business for almost 50 years. We use all best-quality human hair—comes in lengths of 10-, 16-, and 22-inches. We can custom cut them. We can do color matching. Balmain has 18 colors, and within that range we can find a match. But we can also blend different colors together–plus, they’re dyeable.

starburstMany times, we won’t highlight the clients hair; we’ll use blonde extensions on dark hair,  safer way to become blonde and kinder to your own hair.

starburstThe minute clients are told they’re going on chemo, Maurice is on call for them. If they’re told they may or may not lose their hair, it usually means they will. Right after the doctor’s appointment, “I’m on the phone with them to get them measured for a hair piece. It takes between six to eight weeks. That’s usually enough time before the hair begins to fall out. I make a mold for the client’s head, using saran wrap, scotch tape and marker—it must be a perfect, 3D pattern. I work with a well-known wig-maker in L.A., Natasha Ladik, the go-to person in the entertainment business. She and I spend hours on phone I send her pictures of the client and samples of hair. She sends me back a wig that looks exactly like the client.

I don’t charge my clients anything other than what Natasha charges me for the wig. It’s my way of giving back. I really make it a point to be there for the client when her hair falls out during cancer treatment. I help my clients get through it. I try to get you involved in Cancer Community of Philadelphia, an organization that supports cancer patients. Most women are losing their hair than their breasts, that’s why I see this work so important, it gives you your life back.” – Maurice Tannenbaum
